– من مواليد دمشـق لعام 1966 .
– تخرج من كلية الحقوق بجامعة دمشق بداية التسعينات.
– عمل خلال المرحلة الجامعية و ما بعدها بالحقل التعليمي الاجتماعي كمشرف في معاهد الخدمة الاجتماعية بدمشـق، الأمر الذي هيئ له المجال للتواصل مع الحقل التنموي المجتمعي في سوريا.
– عمل بمهنة المحاماة منذ بداية التسعينات وعضو بنقابة المحامين السوريين منذ اكثر من 15 سنة, و كان أحد المدافعين عن معتقلي ربيع دمشق جميعاً منذ عام 2001.
– منع من السفر خارج سوريا في عام 2005 على إثر تأسيسه مع مجموعة مفكرين سوريين للمنظمة السورية لحقوق الإنسان (سواسية)
– أحد المدافعين عن معتقلي الرأي و الضمير في سوريا و أحد الراصدين لمعايير المحاكمة العادلة
– شـارك بالعديد من المؤتمرات الحقوقية و الندوات الدولية المتعلقة بحقوق الإنسان قبل منعه من السفر كما شارك في العديد من المؤتمرات التي كانت تعقد بإشراف اتحاد المحامين العرب.
– له العديد من الدراسـات القانونية ، و أشرف على العديد من الدراسات الرصدية المتعلقة بتحسين أوضاع السجون و المعتقلات و استقلال القضاء و تطوير مناهج التعليم و تطور الصحافة في سوريا و غيرها.
– تمّ ترشيحه مؤخراً لعضوية اللجنة الدولية للحقوقيين بجنيف تمّ انتخابه كمندوب للجنة الدولية.

ناشــط في مجال حقوق الإنســان و سـاهم منذ عام 2004 بتأسـيس المنظمة السـورية لحقوق الإنسـان ” سواسية ” و يشــغل رئيس مجلس إدارتها حتى الأن .

Freedom for the human rights defender the lawyer Muhannad Alhasani, and for all the conscience prisoners in Syria

Syrian Authorities arrested the lawyer Muhannad Alhasani, the Chairman of the Board of Directors in the Syrian Human Rights Organization ( SWASIAH ), on 28 July 2009 for his legitimate work in defending political prisoners in Syria, and observing the barely legal practices of Syria’s Supreme State Security Court (SSSC).

He has been transferred to the Damascus Public Prosecution and he has been charged with “weakening national sentiments” and “spreading false news”.

We, in Syrian Human Rights Organization ( SWASIAH ), invite all those interested in public freedoms, human rights organizations, and individuals to declare their solidarity and demands for the release of lawyer Muhannad Alhasani.

Muhannad Alhasani

– Born in Damascus at 1966
– Graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Damascus early nineties.
– Work at the social education field as a supervisor in the schools of social work in Damascus, which has created a way to continue with the field of community development in Syria.
– He work as a lawyer since the early nineties, and is a member of the Syrian Bar Association for more than 15 years, and one of the defenders for Damascus Spring Prisoners since 2001.
– Prevented from traveling outside Syria in 2005, after establishment with the Syrian Human Rights Organization ( SWASIAH ).
– One of the defenders for conscience prisoners in Syria, and one of the observers for the substantive standards for justice trail.
– Participated in many conferences and international symposia about human rights before being prevented him from traveling
– Also participated in many conferences that were held under the supervision of the Arab Lawyers Union.
– has a lot of legal studies, and supervised many of the observational studies regarding the improvement of the conditions of prisons, and the independence of the judiciary and the development of educational curricula and the development of the press in Syria and other countries.
– He has recently been nominated for membership into the International Commission of Jurists in Geneva
– Was elected as a delegate to the International Committee.

An active member in Human rights field, and has contributed since 2004 in the establishment of the Syrian Human Rights Organization ( SWASIAH ) and the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
