Don’t let the Iranian regime execute journalists: Adnan and Hiwa
The Iranian regime condemned two Kurdish journalists on July 17, 2007 because of their work and activity as journalists. Adnan Hasanpur and Hiwa Butimar are members of the Iranian Writer’s Organization, and they are only guilty of offering independent and systematic criticism and having different view and opinion. Iran, as usual, is hunting and cleansing the country of writers and journalists that are working toward a free and open society. Adnan and Hiwa may be two new victims of the government’s intolerant and anti-freedom policies. Adnan and Hiwa’s lives are in the international community’s hands. The international community holds the responsibility of stopping their inhumane execution. We appeal to all freedom lovers and freedom organizations to react to this execution decision and increase pressure on the Iranian regime until it drops the execution verdict and frees both Adnan and Hiwa from prison.
